Your impact The Transit & Rail Planning Internship experience at Jacobs will provide planning students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in Transportation Planning. Interns will work alongside seasoned professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides students invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education to real-world projects. By working alongside industry professionals, students will gain insight into the complexities of transit and rail systems, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
Typical work tasks include:
Assist in the development and management of rail plans, feasibility studies, conceptual design documents, service development and planning for rail and transit projects.
Assist in data collection and analysis related to transit operations planning and ridership.
Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings and workshops.
Help prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Attend project meetings and assist in the facilitation of coordination with different teams, consultants, and clients.
Assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through preliminary engineering.
Provide support to planning staff members as needed.

Requirements
Here's what you'll need Currently pursing a degree in Urban/City Planning, Public Policy, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in Rail and Transit Planning or related field and a strong desire to advance skills related transportation projects.
Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
